Whisky is big business in Scotland. Not only is the precious liquid one of our top exports, the distilleries at which it is made attracts tourists from across the globe.
It was in recognition of the growing whisky tourism sector that saw eight distilleries join forces to create a celebration of the region through the creation of the first Highland Whisky Festival.
Our creative task was to develop a brand and digital identity for the festival to engage, inform and ultimately sell tickets to the target audience.
key event information
With a short dwell time users are looking for key information fast. We established a manifesto for the presentation of key event information based around the locations and timings of the event.
tested navigation
The users ability to navigate to key pages on the site was paramount. A striking left aligned navigation bar follows the user as they scroll through the site. Considered site architecture leads the users to purchase through great signposting and call to actions.
a unique journey
An interactive map allowed users to navigate their way along the north coast of Scotland. Information on the distilleries could be easily accessed from this page.
an aspirational look inspired by the highlands
We created a style for the HWF brand in keeping with the aesthetic nature of Whisky production in Scotland. Bold industrial typefaces and a colour palette sampled straight from the Highlands ∆
